Who are Patchwork in Glastonbury secret set? | Music | Entertainment

Glastonbury is known for its secret sets but this year, there seem to be more gaps in the line-up than ever. There is one band in particular that everyone is talking about, Patchwork is on the bill to perform at the Pyramid Stage at 6.15pm today but no one knows who they are. After the Foo Fighters appeared on the line-up in 2023 as the ChurnUps, there is strong suspicion that the slot is being filled by a band but who are the favourites?

There have been strong rumours involving American rockband Haim as they have just released their new studio album I Quit. Others believed it could be Chappell Roan who has had a hugely successful year with the release of her first album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess. Talking Heads were also a strong contender as David Byrne recently released new music and announced a tour.

However the strongest rumours by far and now confirmed are that that British rock band Pulp will be pulling up to the festival’s main stage for a surprise appearance on Saturday evening. Pulp have rocked up to the festival unannounced before so it is not a surprise. The band have been keeping people on their toes throughout the month of June, throwing fans off the scent when keyboard player Candida Doyle was interviewed by BBC 6 Music.

She said that it wasn’t happening.

“We wanted to,” Doyle said.

She added: “Just because it’s the 30th anniversary and that kind of thing, and they weren’t interested.”
