Rockstar who ‘every girl loved’ sparks concern with show | Music | Entertainment

A performance from an iconic rocker “every girl was in love with” has left viewers concerned for the star.

While the Grammy Award-nominated artists have been on stage for decades, recent performances are worrying members of the public.

Mötley Crüe fans were left wondering why frontman Vince Neil did not “drop the key a few semitones” to make for a more comfortable, and listenable, performance.

A post to the Reddit page r/CrappyMusic highlighted just how rough a listen Mötley Crüe were on their return to the stage, having retired in 2015 but touring once more in 2018.

Members of the public were left wondering if Neil’s strained vocal work was due to illness, while others considered it was simply sad to see a former rock legend in this condition.

One fan asked: “I don’t know why he doesn’t do what Ozzy did at his last show and drop the original key a few semitones to a comfortable range so he can actually do what the fans paid him to do.”

Another added: “I’ve seen people at concerts with that same ‘I really don’t want to be here’ look. But they were working concessions.”

A third listener accused: “Just Vince Neil ‘singing’ while casually looking down at the lyrics taped to the stage. Nothing to see here…and definitely nothing you’d want to hear.”

One fan of the band wrote: “I noticed that too. I’m flabbergasted. How can he possibly be looking at lyric sheets?

“He’s been singing these songs for 40 years now! If he needs to be reading the lyrics, then he’s in worse shape than we know about.”

Another was left heartbroken by the performance as they remember the band “killing it” just a decade ago. One user wrote: “Stop already, this is making me sad.”

A second agreed, chiming in: “This is really sad.”

Meanwhile, others pointed out how time has changed the band. Heartbreakingly, they recollected: “I remember when every girl I knew was in love with this guy.”

Here’s hoping that it is just a blip and that Vince Neil will be back to his rockstar self as soon as possible! Disappointing show or not, it’s safe to say that he’s still an absolute rock legend.
