Queen Letizia of Spain is widely considered a global fashion icon, but there is one secret everyone has been dying to know — how the royal maintains such an enviable figure. Her slender frame and firm, toned arms are often shown off when she steps out in various jaw-dropping frocks.

Personal trainer Juan Antonio Martín told Spanish magazine Lecturas that her physique has been achieved by “perseverance” in the gym. The fitness guru also revealed that it is not all down to genetics.

He continued: “It’s true that she’s always been slim, but now she’s reached her best physical version thanks to a well-designed routine and healthy habits.”

According to Martín, anyone can achieve toned arms by choosing the right exercises, which will improve gradually over time.

While he mentioned that a slim build can help, the focus is on three key components: diet, exercise, and most importantly, discipline.

Plus, the best part is you don’t need to fork out for an expensive gym membership to get started. Simple at-home workouts and a consistent routine can go a long way, just like they have for Queen Letizia.

He revealed: “There are no shortcuts. You need frequency, good technique, and a holistic approach to well-being.” Before adding that you must train “twice a week”, while allowing your body to recover in between sessions.

Martín also suggested performing “3 to 4 sets of 8 to 12 repetitions per exercise”, and recommends combining “strength and cardio” to help reduce overall body fat.

The personal trainer also mentioned that it’s important to maintain a clean lifestyle outside of training and follow a nutritious diet.

To achieve this, he claimed that you must drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, as it supports “muscle health and skin elasticity,” while also fuelling your body with “natural proteins” and limiting “ultra-processed foods.”

He concluded by saying you should stretch and massage your muscles, as it improves flexibility, reduces injury risk, and enhances performance.

Stretching also increases range of motion and blood flow, while helping to relieve muscle tension and soreness.
