Gordon Ramsay fans floored by price of chef’s Harrods burger

There’s nothing quite like sinking your teeth into a juicy burger when you’re famished or in need of a well-deserved indulgence. But what price would you be willing to pay for a top-notch one? A man recently splashed out on the UK’s priciest burger and has shared his verdict on whether it was truly worth the hefty price tag.

Internet sensation Laurence, known as @letstestlaurence on TikTok, is renowned for sampling the UK’s most sought-after and costly culinary delights. With a following of over four million on TikTok, his reviews are highly regarded and trusted by many. He recently purchased a burger from Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant located on the fourth floor of Harrods, setting him back a staggering £85.

The luxurious offering from Gordon Ramsay Burger features 100% UK heritage beef patties – a custom blend of chuck, brisket and rib cap, grilled to succulent perfection over an open flame and brushed with Ivy House Farm butter for an added touch of nutty sweetness, according to Harrods.

The upscale department store further elaborates: “Ignite your palate with the chef’s signature Hell’s Kitchen Burger, layered with fresh mozzarella, jalapeños, avocado and roasted tomatoes, or double up on the patties with the Oklahoma Smash Burger, stacked high with American cheese, red onion, house pickles and sriracha mayo.”

Laurence successfully snagged a table on the fourth floor and was promptly served his burger. Upon arrival, the culinary critic noted that the dish “smells pretty incredible”.

His first bite revealed a hint of truffle within the patty, which he described as “extremely rich”. “All the flavours are sort of coming together,” he added, clearly impressed.

The burger was elegantly presented on a fancy plate, accompanied by a generous serving of truffle fries in a large cone. “Again, the truffle flavour is really strong,” Laurence observed, also noting the inclusion of an aioli sauce to complement the chips.

After finishing his meal, he made use of a Gordon Ramsay-branded hand wipe.

The review sparked a mixed reaction among viewers. One enthusiastic commenter exclaimed: “I tried this, it was amazing,” Another truffle aficionado chimed in: “Loving the truffle vibes. Girlfriend can’t even stand the smell of truffle without wanting to throw up, bizarre, I love the stuff.”

However, not everyone was won over. One critic labelled the prices as “Daylight robbery prices, 85 quid for a burger is insane, even with the most prime ingredients, shouldn’t be over 40 quid.”, stating that £85 for a burger was “Daylight robbery prices, 85 quid for a burger is insane, even with the most prime ingredients, shouldn’t be over 40 quid.”, even with the finest ingredients, and that it shouldn’t exceed £40.

Another shocked viewer simply exclaimed: “£85! For a burger.”

A further disgruntled commenter wrote: “£85 for a burger and chips, I don’t care who’s restaurant it is, they are ripping people off, the price is because of the name of the owner of the restaurant.”

Another individual suggested: “Go to a butchers shop and they will more often than not have a better burger to cook yourself than you’ll get at any restaurant.”

Another chimed in: “I would never pay that for a burger that is mad no wonder why everything cost so much up in London.”
