Man who ‘witnessed his death’ reveals ‘what it’s like’ to slip into the afterlife

A man who claims to have briefly crossed into the afterlife after suffering a near-fatal medical emergency has shared his extraordinary story, saying he “witnessed his own death” from above. Known online as @after.life.echoes, the TikTok user recounted how he collapsed in a restaurant bathroom after having a severe reaction to medication.

His heart stopped, and for approximately 45 minutes, he was considered clinically dead. According to his account, emergency services declared no signs of life at the scene and he was placed in a body bag.

In a chilling twist, he said paramedics only realised he was alive after noticing a faint sign of life during final checks, moments before taking him away.

But it’s what happened during those 45 minutes that has captivated and bewildered social media users.

In his TikTok videos, the man described a surreal out-of-body experience in which he viewed the scene from above, watching paramedics work on his lifeless form.

“I was looking at everything from above, but what’s weird is it didn’t feel like it was me at all, even though I was sitting there looking at my own dead body,” he said.

He likened the experience to watching a movie.

“It would almost be like going to a movie, like a real movie, and seeing someone dressed like you and looking like you, but you’re like, ‘That’s not me because I’m over here watching the movie.’”

His story has sparked a wave of responses, with thousands commenting on his videos to share similar near-death experiences or to ask questions about what he saw, felt, and remembered.

Many described his account as “chilling,” “comforting,” or even “life-changing.”

The case adds to a growing number of reported near-death experiences that have intrigued scientists and spiritual thinkers alike.

While some view these moments as hallucinations caused by oxygen loss to the brain, others believe they offer a glimpse into what lies beyond death.
