A mischievous and adventurous cat has become a local celebrity thanks to his unlikely antics. Mischief, a black and white feline, has become known to people in Plymouth as the cat who pops up in the most unusual places, from schools to restaurants and supermarkets.
He has even prompted one of the locals to create a Facebook hub with more than 22,500 followers dedicated to his escapades titled ‘Mischief’s adventures in Plymouth’. The page’s description invites residents: “This group has been set up to help us keep track of Mischiefs adventures. He’s a bit like the littlest hobo and loves going around meeting new people and never in one place. Would be nice to see pictures and posts regarding his whereabouts.”
Despite having a loving home, Mischief can’t resist the allure of the streets of Plymouth, where every day is a new quest for excitement.
On TikTok, Amii Illustrates summed it up saying: “This local cat called Mischief causes so much mischief the locals have set up a Facebook page to keep track of him.
“Firstly, here’s a map that people have been keeping of where he has been spotted. This is a whole city. These places are miles apart.”
“Here he is in a school interrupting a year 12 class. Here he is disturbing a random netball game. Here he is in a shopping mall. This is in a local college. Here he is in the university’s SU building.
“Here he is buying a vape. Here he is vising a church. Here he is breaking into someone’s house.”
Mischief, the adventurous cat, has been spotted in various places including a vet’s office which he visited of his own volition. His owner, Tonie Blackmore, has had to restrict his wanderings when he strays too far from home.
Speaking to PlymouthLive, she revealed: “He took himself to Slimming World once, just walked in.”
She added: “I have to ground him sometimes when he goes too far, I have to remind him he has a home.”
Mischief is known to sulk by peering out the blinds when he’s not allowed out. To ensure he doesn’t stray permanently, Tonie requests people not to feed him meals.
The mother of three expressed her concern: “Try not to feed him, treats aren’t too bad but when it comes to actually feeding him, I don’t want him to lose sense of his home if he’s getting fed elsewhere. I worry about that.”
She also shared how her children get upset when Mischief is gone for days and they anxiously check Facebook for updates on his whereabouts.
