The Princess of Wales paid a sweet tribute to two key members of the Royal Family today, while she also honoured the French president with her sartorial choices, an expert has claimed. Princess Kate looked radiant in a blush outfit by French fashion house Christian Dior and a hat by Jess Collett.
Her earrings belonged to the late Diana, Princess of Wales and the pearl necklace was from the late Queen’s collection. The Christian Dior jacket is the 30 Montaigne Rose Des Vents Bar Jacket and a piece from the 2024 collection.
It was confirmed that Maria Grazia Chiuri reimagined the jacket and was inspired by the original created by Christian Dior himself in 1947.
Now, according to an expert, her jewellery choices symbolised a “quite homage” to the enduring legacy of the two beloved royals.
Tobias Kormind, MD and Co-Founder of 77 Diamonds, said: “The Princess of Wales paid a thoughtful tribute to President Macron and the First Lady of France with her choice of outfit, selecting a modern interpretation of a Classic Christian Dior jacket, to greet the presidential couple.”
The expert said that Kate’s choice was a “diplomatic nod” to France’s “iconic fashion heritage”.
He added that while Kate’s ensemble itself was striking, it was her jewellery that added “emotional depth” to the look.
The expert explained: “She accessorised her pastel pink outfit with the Collingwood pearl earrings once worn by her late mother-in-law, Diana Princess of Wales.
“These elegant drop earrings were complemented by a three-strand pearl necklace from the late Queen Elizabeth II’s collection.
“The [late] Queen was rarely seen without her pearls, and their inclusion symbolised a quiet homage to her enduring legacy.”
