‘Pretty’ Roman dress that disguises tummy is flying off the rails for £30

With August bank holiday approaching and warm weather set to hit the UK, shoppers are racing to snap up a flattering summer dress that disguises the tummy. The Roman Linen Look Shirred Midi Dress is available in two popular colours – lime green and fuchsia pink. 

Designed to embody ageless sophistication and style, the Roman dress is made with 100% cotton for comfort and it features a flattering V-neckline and forgiving 3/4 sleeves, keeping shoppers cool and stylish without any upper arm concerns. It is originally retailed at £38, but it’s now on 21% off and is reduced to £30.

The fit and flare skirt falls to a midi length below knees, giving a feminine silhouette that one shopper said “helped disguise my belly”. The shirred detailing at the waist adds texture while sculpting a slimming, hourglass curve. 

Roman suggested customers pair the dress with sandals and a denim jacket for a relaxed yet chic look. At the time of writing, both colours are in full stock and it is available from sizes UK10 to UK20. 

Finery also has a similar design, their Jamilla Indigo Cotton Midi Dress, however, features short puff sleeves and a shirred bodice. It also has pockets for shoppers to keep belongings safe. The dress is available in three colours and is priced at £49.

For plus size shoppers, New Look’s Curves Shirred Waist Midi Dress is now reduced to £25.49. The garment is panelled to a relaxed shape,and it mimics a shirt dress with a collared V-neckline and decorative buttons down the front.

Roman shoppers raved about the Linen Look Shirred Midi Dress and one customer who bought the fuchsia pink version said: “The colour and cut look like something I need to try.”

Another said she liked the sleeve length and colour while a third added: “Lovely dress and lovely colour. Nice weight of fabric for this time of year, love the design of the dress.”

Meanwhile a fan decided to return the dress because it does not have pockets. But others love the summer shades and got the dress with 21% off, at £30 instead of £38.
