M&S trousers ‘flattering on tummy’ and ‘hang beautifully’

It can be tricky finding the perfect pair of trousers that look stylish, flatter the body and are comfortable. Marks and Spencer’s shoppers believe they have hit the jackpot with a pair of trousers that are ‘flattering on the tummy’.

The Palazzo Wide Leg Trousers are smart enough to wear to work with a pair of heels, but they can also be worn casually with a cosy cardigan or jumper and trainers. They are available in sizes six to 24 and conveniently come in three different lengths; short/petite, regular and long.

M&S offers the £45 trousers in three stylish colours – black, butterscotch and midnight navy. Each is made from a wool-look fabric with added stretch for a ‘stylish aesthetic’ and ‘easy movement’.

The wide-leg pants have both a button and a zip fastening and sit high on the waist, creating a flattering silhouette. They also have handy side and back pockets for keeping your essentials close by.

The Palazzo Wide Leg Trousers are part of the M&S Collection; easy-to-wear wardrobe staples that combine classic and contemporary styles. 35 customers have reviewed the trousers to date, awarding them an overall score of 4.4 out of five.

One delighted buyer rated them five stars and commented: “I love wide legged trousers and these are perfect for a dressed up night out. Hang beautifully, so feel good to wear.”

A second shopper agreed, as they said: “Very smart trousers. I’m converted; I used to be a culottes person, but these palazzo trousers are lovely. They hang beautifully.”

A third five-star review reads: “The flattering and modern cut adds something different to your working wardrobe. Good quality fabric that falls nicely. Looks more expensive than it is. Fit is true to size.”

Someone else wrote: “Tummy tuck! Lighter material than I had anticipated, but well tailored and very flattering on the tummy area.” Another added: “They are comfortable, fit really well and look smart all at the same time.”

Unfortunately not everybody was impressed with the M&S trousers, as one person noted: “I bought a size 10 short and was very disappointed when I tried them on. The legs are far too wide for the size – I looked like something out of a circus act.”

If you’d like to add the Palazzo Wide Leg Trousers to your wardrobe, you can buy them from M&S here for £45. Elsewhere, Next is selling Black Tailored Crepe Super Wide Trousers priced at £44. They come in petite and regular fits and a variety of lengths.

Alternatively, FatFace has Shirred Palazzo Wide Leg Trousers available in black and burgundy. They cost £39.50 and are also available in different fits and lengths.
