Following Amazon MGM Studios’ purchase of the James Bond film franchise’s creative control, new producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman have been hard at work on the 007 reboot.
28 Years Later star Aaron Taylor-Johnson may be the bookies’ favourite, but according to a new report from a reliable scooper, another rising star is being considered among other actors.
Daniel Richtman reports that Amazon plans to shoot the next Bond in 2026, while an actor and director have yet to be confirmed.
Nevertheless, Aaron Pierre is allegedly in consideration, although the leaker adds “not sure if they actually met him yet though”.
Pierre is a 31-year-old Brit of Jamaican, Curaçaoan and Sierra Leonean ethnicity who trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. The rising star is best known for playing Malcolm X in the miniseries Genius and voiced the titular role in Mufasa: The Lion King. He’s currently 12-1 to be cast as the next Bond after Craig.
