Horror film that ‘never gets old’ now free to stream | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

The cult classic horror flick Dog Soldiers, which die-hard fans have watched “a dozen times” is now available to stream for free.

Released in 2002, the film has been hailed as the “best werewolf film” by its ardent followers, with many having indulged in multiple viewings. Now, this much-loved tale can be enjoyed on Pluto TV without spending a penny.

The film’s synopsis reveals: “During a routine night time training mission in the Scottish Highlands, a small squad of British soldiers expected to rendezvous with a special ops unit instead find a bloody massacre with a sole survivor. The savage attackers of the special ops team return, and the men are rescued by Megan (Emma Cleasby), a zoologist who identifies what hunts them as werewolves.”

Stranded without transport or communications, the soldiers must hole up in a farmhouse and survive until the full moon wanes at dawn.

Online reviews have been overwhelmingly positive. Over on Rotten Tomatoes, where it boasts an 82% rating, one enthusiast exclaimed: “Just watched this again and was reminded how truly great this movie actually was. From the subtle homages to the practical effects, this movie absolutely delivers.”

Another fan gushed: “Absolutely great movie it never gets old.”

Meanwhile, a third chimed in: “This movie is an extremely underrated horror gem.”

One cinematic connoisseur enthused: “The best werewolf movie of all time, it mixes terror, mystery and suspense in just the right dose. The tension only increases as the movie progresses, where a group of soldiers have to fight with all their might to escape the attacks of werewolves thirsty for fresh human flesh and blood.”

An IMDB critic didn’t hold back praise, saying: “My number 1 the best werewolf horror film of all time a true classic masterpiece.”

Google reviews echoed this sentiment with comments like: “One of my favourite werewolf movies. I have watched this film a dozen times and it never gets old.”

However, opinion wasn’t unanimous as one critic remarked: “Felt very much like a movie that should have came out 20 years ago.”

As another sceptic observed: “I can’t believe critics were so impressed.”
