The Year of the Wood Snake began on January 29, 2025, and will end on February 16, 2026. In the Chinese zodiac, the snake is associated with wisdom, charm and transformation, but those born in the Year of the Snake (1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013), are not considered lucky this year, according to China Travel Guide. However, good fortune favours three other zodiac animals this week.
Sharing her insights with YourTango, astrologer and numerologist Aria Gmitter revealed the signs that “will feel like life is full of positive outcomes”. She explained that between June 2 and June 8, 2025, there are lots of opportunities for the pig, dragon and monkey to tap into their luck.
1. Dragon
The Dragon is the fifth sign in the Chinese zodiac and is associated with good luck, strength and imperial power. In 2024, the Year of the Wood Dragon was notoriously unlucky for those linked to this animal sign, due to a concept which signifies a clash between the zodiac sign of the year and those born in that same year.
However, in the Year of the Wood Snake, the zodiac sign fares better, says Aria. She said: “Dragon, the week of June 2 to 8, 2025, luck finds you in your career.”
Securing an interview or finding new hiring opportunities on your radar could happen this week. It’s a chance to update your CV and get noticed by hiring managers on June 4, claimed the astrologer.
She suggests that dragons are projected to be more visible in fierce competition than other animals this week. But intuition is still important, so don’t overlook any hunches or signs that warn you whether or not to do something.
2. Pig
In the Chinese zodiac, the Year of the Pig (1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019) represents a time associated with innocence, kindness, generosity and a positive outlook on life.
The pig is a symbol of wealth and prosperity and giving a piggy bank is believed to bring good luck and fortune in Chinese culture.
This week, Aria notes that “there’s a natural sense of attraction toward you and for you” so you can manufacturer your own luck.
She explained that the tender nature of people born in a Year of the Pig is what makes them lucky on June 8. Aria warned: “Be sure to listen to phone messages as you may get word of an important meeting that delivers you positive news about your job or a good friend.”
3. Monkey
The monkey symbolises cleverness, adaptability and intelligence which, according to the Chinese zodiac, work in the monkey’s favour this week.
Aria said: “You go beyond a lucky palm itching and money in your pocket, you walk into situations, and things work out for you.”
Things that feel out of place will begin to resolve from June 3, noted the astrologer. She suggests wearing gold this week while you feel rich in fortune.
