Oil-free foundation makes ‘skin appear younger’

Luxury beauty brand Chantecaille has relaunched their iconic, celebrity-loved Future Skin foundation and reformulated with even more anti-ageing benefits to take care of shoppers’ skin concerns.

Known for its breathable, skin-like finish, the oil-free base makeup is also favoured by hit Netflix series The Crown’s makeup artist, who used it on the cast for a “flawless, healthy and luminous skin”. The foundation is now available exclusively online for £83, and Cult Beauty has reduced the old formula versions by 15%.

The relaunch also includes seven new shades for true complexion matching, and fully recyclable glass and aluminium packaging. It is also infused with a 58% water base and skin-enhancing botanicals like Spiriolela Polyrrhiza, soothing Chaga Mushroon and a plant-based retinol alternative from Mastic tree.

The upgraded formula instantly leaves skin looking fresher and more radiant and 100% testers agree it refines the appearance of the skin after 28 days of use. 97% of them said it immediately makes their skin appear younger.

Also crafted in Japan, Suqqu’s The Foundation, loved by Margot Robbie and Holly Willoughby, gives a reliable and refined base that imparts a luminescent glow and it’s currently on sale at Harrods for £66 instead of £75. For a more affordable option, Nars’ Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation, reduced to £31.98 at Boots, gives a natural finish with up to 16 hours of long-lasting wear.

Celebrity makeup artist Lisa Aharon said: “Future Skin is my go-to for hydrated, weightless dewy coverage that looks effortlessly fresh.” One shopper was obsessed with the product as she shared: “From the very first application, it was clear this formula is a game-changer. The texture is lightweight, breathable, and delivers a beautifully natural finish that lasts all day.”

A customer with sensitive skin was also happy with the new Future Skin foundation, explaining: “It feels weightless on my skin and gives such a beautiful, natural finish — like my skin but better. It blends effortlessly, evens out my tone without looking cakey, and leaves a soft glow. I also appreciate the clean ingredients and how gentle it is on my sensitive skin. It’s definitely a luxury product, but totally worth it.”

One shopper expressed concerns about the packaging: “It is definitely a luxury item, but the glass jar is heavy and not travel-friendly. I am also concerned about the hygiene issue of dipping my makeup sponge into the pot every time I use it.”

Cate Hall explained to Get the Gloss why she loved using the Chantecaille foundation on the cast for The Crown: “Future Skin makes skin look healthy and luxurious on camera. I use it for both contemporary and period filming because it can be buffed away to nothing and it doesn’t contain excessive shimmer which can look too modern.

“We use concealers on top only, building up coverage where needed and leaving the rest of the skin looking beautiful and natural. We then powder, again, only where needed, to take away any distracting shine, leaving the skin looking luminous.

“Modern cameras capture every detail, so make-up for filming has to be as seamless as possible. Our aim is to create subtly beautiful skin that is three-dimensional and ‘real’ rather than mask-like.”

Shoppers can also try the Chantecaille Future Skin Foundation with their new Blend and Smooth Brush, £40, that is made from soft vegan fibres to create a face-hugging angled shape.
