Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that exfoliates and removes the superficial layer of dry, dead skin cells. However, to help people’s skin from the comfort of their own homes, Skin Krush released their own at-home kit.
The Microdermabrasion kit is an at-home skin treatment that removes dead skin cells from the outer layer of the skin. The deep exfoliation helps skincare products penetrate the skin and work better. I’ve tested it out for six weeks to see how it worked, and it’s made a huge difference.
Ideal for 18 to 45 year olds, this device works to improve skin texture, remove blemishes and maintain a “youthful glow” according to the company.
The description of the product added: “Whether you’re dealing with occasional breakouts, uneven skin tone, or simply want to refresh your complexion, this device provides professional-grade exfoliation at home.”
Benefits include a reduction in blackheads and milia, reduced pigmentation, and reduced fine lines. It also provides glowing and rejuvenated skin.
To use the kit, I started by washing my skin with my cleanser and patting it dry with a towel before putting a small white filter onto the tip of the tool.
This helps to collect the dead skin cells during the treatment. It comes with a variety of heads, and if you’re not sure which one to use first or how to use them, Skin Krush is on hand for any questions and help.
Once your chosen tip is attached, I pressed the button to begin the mild suction, testing it out on my hand and leg first before moving onto my face.
I then stretched my face to allow the device to smoothly run over my skin. Although it was tricky to make sure I got every area of my face at first, this became second-nature once I discovered a routine.
Using this once per week for six weeks, I didn’t change my head at all because I was happy with the one I was using.
Once finished and the tip was removed, you can examine the filter to see the dead skin cells that had gathered. Sometimes there was a lot for me, and other times there wasn’t any.
It’s important to apply a lightweight SPF after if you’re heading out for the day, or a moisturiser at night.
It’s also important not to use any skincare products containing Vitamin A or Retinols for 24 hours after using a device like this.
After suffering with texture, acne and millia for my whole adult life, I was so impressed with the results of this.
My skin was smoother, it was softer, and I felt like my skincare products were working better.
What’s more, this was just after six weeks, too, so I’m excited to continue using the kit to see even further long-term results.
The kit is £83 and comes with everything you need to start on your skin journey.
