Grease will vanish from oven in half an hour if rubbed with 1 natural item

The oven door may look like a nightmare to clean, but with one simple natural ingredient, stubborn grease simply melts away. Sodium bicarbonate, otherwise known as baking soda, is a naturally occurring chemical compound that, as the name suggests, is great for baking—but it’s also an effective cleaning agent.

According to home cleaning expert Erin from Lemons, Lavender & Laundry, all you need to clean your oven is baking soda and a wet scouring pad or sponge, and a dry cloth. Explaining how it works, she said: “Baking soda is a natural (mild) abrasive, so it gently scrubs away stains, grease, and grime that has built up on the oven door. Baking soda also absorbs stains.”

So, how does the process work? Erin explains: “Start by liberally sprinkling baking soda all over the glass. Keyword: liberally.”

She continued: “Once there is a generous amount of baking soda on the oven door, wet down a scour pad and start moving the baking soda around the glass until you get a thick paste. The baking soda tends to stay in clumps, so do your best to evenly smear it around the glass door.

“The goal is to cover the entire glass oven door with the baking soda paste. If you find you do not have enough paste, simply add more baking soda and water. If the paste is thick and clumpy, add more water; if it’s thin and runny, add more baking soda.”

Erin went on: “After the baking soda paste is covering the glass oven door, let it sit for 30-60 minutes. When the time is up, grab your scour pad again. Wet it down and start to scrub in small sections.”

After that, grab your dry cloth and wipe away any residue. Although the process is highly effective, tiny bits of grease may remain. If you want to remove those, it may be advisable to repeat the process but leave the baking soda mixture on the oven door overnight.
