Drivers are just learning about hidden feature on Skoda cars

Drivers are shocked to learn about hidden feature of Skoda cars, with people comparing them to Rolls Royce.

Skoda cars are becoming increasingly popular across the UK. In 2024, Skoda registered 78,601 cars in the UK, marking a 12.3% increase over the previous year, according to the manufacturer.

But what a lot of car owners might not be aware of is that each car model made by the Czech car manufacturer is that each vehicle hides a secret in its doors.

People have been taken to social media platforms, such as TikTok, to urge any Skoda owners to check their cars for this hidden feature.

In a video that has been published to TikTok, a person is seen opening the door on the driver’s side of their Skoda car before looking at the side of the arm rest, where there is a small opening.

They then go to grab a black object that’s inside the door, only to pull out a foldable umbrella from the hidden spot. The umbrella in question has a black handle with the Skoda logo printed at the bottom. It’s also covered in a black sleeve.

The person filming then puts the umbrella back into its spot and closes the door again, letting the umbrella stay in its spot for the next rainy day.

In the comment section, the car owner confirmed that an identical umbrella can be found on the passenger side of the car.

Viewers were left shocked about the new discovery, with some people comparing the car to a Rolls Royce.

Rolls Royce cars are the most common car brand that has included built-in umbrellas in all of their cars since 2002, when it was first seen in their Phantom model, but it now comes with all of their car models. If you’re interested in buying an exclusive Rolls Royce umbrella, it will set you back about £500.

Another person took to the comment section of the video to say: “I have skoda umbrella on my skoda rapid, but they put it under the passenger seat.”

According to Scoda, while special coach-built Superb models of the 1930s often featured built-in umbrellas, it was the first new-era Superb of 2001 that offered the feature as standard.

Since then, the built-in umbrella has been an integral part of the company’s Simply Clever package for the Superb. It has since been extended to other models.
