Cat dumped on street after owner dies desperately searching for new ho | UK | News

An adorable cat is searching for a new home after being dumped on the street after her owner died.

Three-year-old Kitty was taken in by Miracle’s Mission last year – but has now been in their care for six months without catching anyone’s eye.

A statement reads: “Kitty’s owner died and nobody in the family wanted to keep her so they dumped her in the street.

“A few days later a rescuer found her near the block where her owners lived. Feeling pity for her having been cast out she took her in.

“Kitty is good with cats and children. She is able bodied, spayed and microchipped and vaccinated. She weighs around 2kg. She is in good health.”

While she loves attention, she is not comfortable being picked up – and would need to learn to trust her owners before this happens.

She is currently in Egypt but is searching for a loving home in the UK with owners who can “care for a young cat for the rest of her life”.

The charity explained how it’s “very rare that anybody wants to adopt in Egypt”, meaning she more likely to enjoy her life if she moves here.

Commenting on her rehoming appeal on Facebook, one user said: “Nothing riles me more than so called people dumping an animal like this. Praying a loving home is found for her.”

Another user added: “Poor baby. Disgusting you were dumped. Hope you find decent people.”

A third user said: “She’s stunning – I hope she finds her loving forever home soon.”

One more user added: “Beautiful! How can they dump a little cat I don’t know, it’s disgusting! Hope you find a loving home!”

Another user said: “Adorable. I hope she finds the best home.” A final user said: “What a wee cutie.”

Miracle’s Mission, a registered UK charity, primarily operates in the UK, Borneo and Egypt, with the aim of safeguarding animals at risk.

According to the organisation: “Our mission is to provide a place of safety for animals in danger, to educate on the needs of neutering both pets and strays and to neuter stray dogs and cats to prevent the birth of more animals onto the streets.”

The charity also focuses on rehabilitating and rehoming dogs in need, including those with disabilities at their UK rescue base.

Its statement adds: “Miracle’s Mission was founded by a board of trustees in 2015, after a trip to Borneo raised awareness of the severity of the street dog population. Working with animal shelters over there, it became apparent that whilst these shelters were caring for the animals, the root cause was yet to be addressed.

“Allowing un-neutered cats and dogs to roam the streets meant that puppies and kittens were being born onto the streets at an alarming rate, with a grim life ahead of them.

“Therefore Miracle’s Mission came into existence with the main aim to neuter stray animals on the streets of Borneo and decrease the population of dogs and cats suffering.”
