Medik8 SPF cream that ‘reduces fine lines and wrinkles’

Skincare is a top priority for many people to not only protect their skin, but also to slow down the development of fine lines and wrinkles. It can be an expensive shopping trip, however, to get the correct skincare routine that covers all bases.

Medik8 is known for its high quality skincare products, and now shoppers can grab a two for one option with the Advanced Day Ultimate Protect Age-Defying Moisturiser with Photolyase SPF 50+ now £47.20 down from £59 – offering shoppers both protection against the sun and glowy, ageless skin.

This cream is said to offer a shield against the effects of the sun including the damage, ageing and burning it can cause, as well as protecting against air pollution, blue light – which has been shown to lead to changes in the skin such as cell shrinkage and can speed up the ageing process – infrared damage, and glycation, which is damage to collagen and elastin within the skin. Through shielding against all of these elements, the cream can work to prevent the formation of wrinkles, dark spots, dullness and uneven skin texture.

The formula has been created with a DNA repair enzyme called photolyase which works to support the skin’s natural repair machanisms after they have been exposed to UV rays. It is also infused with a number of hydrating qualities such as squalane and hyaluronic acid which offers daily moisturisation.

From those who have used the cream, 94% agreed that the cream leaves skin feeling moisturised all day, 98% of UVB rays – emitted by the sun – were blocked by the SPF50+, and it is proven to deliver a non-greasy invisible finish for all skin tones and can be worn underneath makeup, causing as little disruption as possible for buyers.

If this isn’t the one for everyone, shoppers could instead try the ESPA Optimal Pro-Moisturiser SPF 30 55ml from LookFantastic for £50 which is a wearable, non-greasy, non-whitening daily sunscreen that is suitable for all skin types and ethnicities. Another option is the Bulldog Anytime Daily Moisturiser SPF 30 75ml for £18 from Boots which protects and hydrates skin using specifically selected ingredients, is light and non-greasy, and suitable for all skin tones.

The Medik8 product has got a high 4.9 out of 5 star rating from their website, however. One shopper said: “Visibly reduces fine lines and wrinkles, provides the skin with all-day-long lasting hydration and gives sufficient UV-protection. Very satisfied with my purchase and highly recommend to anyone!”

Another wrote: “The best buy I would say. Perfect SPF coverage to non sticky texture to a nice glowing face, what else you want. Very happy. Highly recommended!”

“Easily absorbed moisturising and leaves no white cast,” said another shopper. “Perfect for holidays and everyday. My go to moisturiser. Make up applies evenly after use. Factor 50 seems to be a trusted SPF. Perfect everyday solution.”

Some others disagreed, however, as one person said: “This is too thick to use comfortably. One pump isn’t quite enough and two is too many.”

“It doesn’t feel too greasy but makes your skin greasy throughout the day! Doesn’t seem to last long as a sunscreen,” said another.

The Advanced Day Ultimate Protect Age-Defying Moisturiser with Photolyase SPF 50+ is available on Medik8.
