Skincare is a top priority for most people, as it not only helps to ensure skin is glowing and stays looking young and fresh but it is also an act of self-care, taking time to step away from busy lives and enjoy some me-time. However, building up a skincare routine with quality products that make users feel great can cost a fair bit of cash.
That said, there are often great deals on sites such as Boots that offer shoppers high quality products for cheaper prices. Now, shoppers can get the Liz Earle Cleanse & Smooth Collection for £39 at Boots – originally worth £89.
Inside the high end set comes three products. Firstly, there’s the cleanse and glow transfomring gel cleanser which cleanses, removes makeup and can also boost hydration in skin. It is enriched with natural ingredients such as cocoa butter and chamomile and is suitable for all skin types.
The set also has a Skin Repair Light Cream which is a lightweight, plant-powered moisturiser which claims to smooth, soften and add radiance to skin. It is said to be ideal for normal and combination skin and contains avocado oil among other effective ingredients. Lastly is the Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser which combines rosemary, chamomile and cocoa butter to lift away makeup and hydrate skin. There are also two cotton cloths in the set to aid removing makeup and moisturising the skin.
Not every brand will be suitable for everyone, and alternative sets include The Ordinary The Clear Set for £14.10 from LookFantastic which features a cleanser, serum and moisturiser to help nourish and clairfy skin’s appearance. Another is The Skincare Discovery Set for £50 from Neal’s Yard Remedies which includes a rehydrating rose toner, a wild rose beauty balm, hyaluronic acid hydrating booster and an almond moisturiser.
The Liz Earle set has a high 4.8 out of five star-rating on the Boots website, however, as one shopper said: “I have used Liz Earle for 20+ years and absolutely love it. Bought this as a gift, and the birthday girl said it’s great, and she will definitely be purchasing some more once it runs out. Great product, and the packaging is lovely when giving as a gift.”
Another said: “Love this set, I am a fan of Liz Earle. Lovely products and good for the skin.”
“Absolutely fabulous set. I have been using Liz Earle for many many years. Everything smells gorgeous, gentle on the skin, and this set is a fabulous price,” said another.
Skincare can be a very individual buy, however, and some others weren’t as impressed. One customer wrote: “Bought this kit as part of the early offer. I use these products daily. I use Cleanse and polish each night and the cleanse and glow each morning followed by the skin repair light cream.
“The cream suits my sensitive skin, leaving it hydrated without stickiness. I have deducted one star because it comes in a beautiful reusable box with a price sticker on the front, which when removed tore the front of the box. If this had been bought as a gift would have been spoiled.”
On the Liz Earle website, someone wrote about the Skin Repair Light Cream saying: “I have been using Liz Earle since it started and one of the products was the moisturiser. However, I have noticed the cream has changed and unfortunately my skin has reacted to an ingredient. For the time being, I have had to stop using it.”
The Liz Earle Cleanse & Smooth Collection is available from Boots.
