No7 has launched a new serum – the Future Renew Night Serum. It will cost £39.95, but Boots has released the new product with the code REVERSE10, a £10 discount that cuts the price to £29.95. As it’s an introductory offer, the deal may not last long, though. It’s part of the Future Renew range, which is formulated with pepticology: a blend of ingredients that targets dryness and uneven texture and can improve fine lines, firmness and radiance.
The skin goes through a repairing process at night, renewing skin cells faster than in the day, so it can be the best time for skincare to work its magic. This serum works when the skin is most active and boosts collagen, which can improve elasticity, enhance texture and smooth wrinkles. You’ll want to apply the serum first so it can sink straight into the skin, and then follow up with a moisturiser on top to seal the hydration before heading to bed.
As a beauty writer, I’ve tried quite a few No7 skincare products in the past, and although it’s not the cheapest brand you can buy, I’ve found the ingredients are often comparable to some more expensive brands. For example, Medik8’s Liquid Peptides Advanced MP serum also contains peptides and makes similar claims as to the skin benefits, but is considerably more costly at £79.
Boots used a review panel to trial the No7 product, and there’s mostly positive feedback so far, but with some mixed reviews, too.
One reviewer said: “Really nice, smooth application and texture with this serum. My skin definitely feels more supple, and fine lines are fading.”
Another felt the serum didn’t work for their skin, saying: “The product itself is light and soaks in well, the texture is nice when applying. I used it for a month but found in the morning my skin was oily and I’ve had some breakouts while using it, I do however have combination skin anyway so just not the product for me.”
However, a third was pleased with the serum’s results, adding: “I have been using this for a couple of weeks now and have noticed an improvement to my skin, which feels more hydrated and looks healthier. I have been putting it on at night before bed and particularly like the fact that it is not sticky and doesn’t have a strong smell like other brands.”
Alternatively, if you wanted a peptide serum for under £20, The Ordinary Multi-Peptide + HA serum is highly-rated for improving firmness and smoothness, and costs £15.90 at Lookfantastic.
