There’s nothing worse for a reader than committing to a book and, after making it through hundreds of pages, being left with a disappointing ending. Luckily, fellow readers on the Goodreads platform have come together to share their opinion on the book with the best ending. 

And after the vote was held on the website, it came to light that many readers believe Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the seventh book in the series, is worthy of the title. The book received a rating of 4.62 out of five, with a huge 3,968,601 ratings. The book sold 8.3 million copies within the first 24 hours of release in the US in July 2007, breaking all publishing records.

In this final, seventh instalment of the Harry Potter series, author  JK Rowling describes the epic war between good and evil taking place at the school of Hogwarts, with readers saying goodbye to many beloved characters and being given a glimpse into the future of others.

In second place, Goodreads users placed A Story of Yesterday by Sergio Cobo.

The synopsis of the novel reads: “A Story of Yesterday is a concise and straight punch to the jaw of life. Under a sky of different colors germinates a magical story of survival, where the result of each choice, enclosed in this particular tale, will snatch the whereabouts of each story forever.”

Taking third spot on the list is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, which is a timeless classic that has retained its popularity throughout the years.

It follows the story of Elizabeth Bennet and her romantic clash with Mr. Darcy.

At spot number four is Sheever’s Journal, Diary of a Poison Master by K. Ritz.

This book follows Me’acca Mysuth Sheever, who lives undercover among those he once considered enemies. 

For five years, he records his life in a journal, revealing a past filled with secrets. As he writes, his experiences and memories shape his view of the world around him.

Getting into the top five is Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card.

The novel follows the story of Ender Wiggin, a child prodigy and mankind’s best hope for victory in a war against an alien race. 

Ender joins Battle School, where children are trained to become military leaders in the war against an advanced alien race.
