Top baby names set to be most popular in 2025 – see full list of 20

Parents have been opting for more unique baby names in recent years, with the most popular monikers of the year being known to change quite dramatically.

Harper, which is the name of David and Victoria Beckham’s daughter, was high on the list of popular baby names in 2024, alongside Maverick and Nova.

However, recent data collected by Not On The High Street, one of the UK’s largest gifting marketplaces, has suggested that these unique names may be on a decline, with parents instead opting for more traditional, or ‘old-fashioned names.

Looking at internal personalised sales data taken from the lead-up to 2025, the experts have created a list of what they predict will be the top 10 most popular baby names this year.

The top name for girls is predicted to be Amelia, while for boys it’s likely to be Oliver.

Are celebrities set to influence baby names this year?

Baby names are often inspired by celebrities and their offspring, and this could definitely be the case again in 2025. Celebrity’s whose names are topping the list include Amelia Dimoldenberg and Florence Pugh, who have both seen a dramatic increase in popularity over the last few years.

Traditional names have also been gaining popularity for celebrity couples, with Justin and Hailey Bieber opting to name their son Jack, marking a break from the usual rather unique names celebs typically pick, like Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s daughter Apple and Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s son Psalm.

Royal names are continuing to make the top 10 lists

In third place on the list of boy’s names is George. In the early 2000s this traditional name sure a bit of a dip in popularity but this has since jumped back up in the years following the birth of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s son Prince George, in 2013.

While the names of Prince George’s siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, haven’t made the top ten in Not On The High Street’s predictions, the name Charlotte came in at number five on babycenter.com’s list of 2024’s most popular names for girls.

Archie also made the top 10 list, coming in at 9th place, which is the same name that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle gave their son, who was born in 2019. This seems to have had a lasting effect on the name’s popularity, despite the fact that they are no longer working royals.

Other royal-linked names that made the lists include Lily, similar to the late Queen Elizabeth II’s nickname of Lilibet, and Henry is the name of both Prince Harry, and numerous Royals before him, including King Henry VIII.
