Sainsbury’s gives £250 handout to customers with a Nectar Card | Personal Finance | Finance

Sainsbury’s customers are being offered £250 back if they have a Nectar card and improve their home.

The supermarket runs its own energy brand, Sainsbury’s Energy, in collaboration with E.ON and as part of the partnership, customers can get £250 off various home upgrades focused on reducing bills and improving energy efficiency.

The offer gives customers £200 off the installation cost of solar panels via E.On and £50 off an EV charger to pair them with.

It means that customers can get up to £250 towards upgrading the energy efficiency of their homes and thereby save on further costs down the line – but you’ll need a Nectar card to get the deal.

Sainsbury’s said: “We know many of you are already taking steps to reduce your energy bills and carbon footprint, but there are some big leaps you can make that could have a long-term impact. We are here to help you invest in your future with exclusive savings.

“As a Sainsbury’s Energy customer you can enjoy exclusive discounts on home energy upgrades through E.ON. Get up to £200 off solar panels & batteries. Plus, save £50 on an EV charger for your home.”

According to Sainsbury’s Energy, solar panels can save households up to £713 per year on their electricity bills and allows households to take control of their energy by generating their own power.

But these energy upgrade discounts are limited to Nectar card holders, with loyalty customers able to boost their points balance with every bill.

Nectar customers who switch their energy supply to Sainsbury’s Energy can start earning points on their energy bills straight away, with every £1 spent contributing to their points balance. These points can then be used to spend on shopping at Sainsbury’s or with one of Nectar’s partners, such as Argos, British Airways, Caffe Nero and Sky.

Sainsbury’s adds: “By switching to us, you’ll not only benefit from our competitive energy tariffs but also earn valuable Nectar points on your bills. These points add up to real savings on future shopping, so you can enjoy more from your essentials.

“It’s a fantastic way to save money and boost your Nectar points balance, whether you’re an existing Sainsbury’s shopper or new to the Nectar family.

“With Sainsbury’s Energy, you’re getting more than just a great energy tariff. You’re also boosting your Nectar points balance with every bill.”
