DWP new payment rates for State Pension, JSA and more from April | Personal Finance | Finance

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is poised to present its ‘Draft Social Security Benefits Up-Rating Order 2025’ in Parliament on Tuesday. Despite the opportunity for opposition MPs to challenge the DWP on State Pensions and benefits, it’s expected they will back the proposed increases.

Pensioners can look forward to a 4.1 per cent boost to their State Pension this year, while those on working age or disability benefits will see a 1.7 per cent rise. However, the DWP’s new rates, set to be implemented on April 7, may not reflect in most claimants’ payments until the following month due to the four-week arrears payment system.

Some State Pension recipients who receive weekly or fortnightly payments will benefit from the uplift sooner. Universal Credit, with its unique month-to-month assessment periods, might not reflect the increased amount until the May payment cycle, according to the Daily Record.

The DWP has published the proposed weekly or monthly rates for the new financial year on the GOV. UK website, providing a detailed breakdown of all benefits, additional payments, the benefit cap, and new deduction rates.

The new DWP payment rates for 2025/26 are conveniently listed in alphabetical order.
