A survey has revealed that adults pour the most effort into hunting for deals when it comes to supermarket shopping, booking holidays, and refreshing their wardrobes.

Dedicated deal-seekers are investing a hefty two hours and 18 minutes each week scouring for the best bargains with a desire to reduce their outgoings, according to a recent study.

The poll indicates that UK adults will spend over an hour and a half rummaging in charity shops, but surprisingly, a quarter rarely compare prices to secure the best car insurance deals.

This insight comes courtesy of Compare the Market, which is ushering in a new chapter with their innovative service, AutoSergei.

AutoSergei promises to offer customised car insurance quotes, potentially saving customers both time and money as they approach their renewal date.

To celebrate the launch of AutoSergei, the service’s mascot has been making surprise appearances nationwide, including at Birmingham’s Bullring and Leake Street Arches by Waterloo.

The study also revealed that while the majority of people are keen to save money, 34% consider saving time as equally important. Interestingly, while the primary motivation for bargain hunting is to save money, over a quarter also enjoy ‘the thrill of the hunt’.

Adults perceive price comparison websites as the best source for a good deal, compared to consulting family members or scouring social media.
