Ed Sheeran names only film he watches every single year without fail | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Most people will have a movie which has a special dent in their hearts, whether it’s from the story it tells or us having fond memories surrounding it. Because of this, it can always be interesting to learn about other people’s favourite films.

Ed Sheeran is no stranger to having worked with movies, as he recently released his song Drive to appear to the soundtrack of F1: The Movie, starring Brad Pitt. He’s previously also made songs for films such as The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, The Fault in our Stars, and 2024 Christmas film Under the Tree. Not to mention, he’s also starred in some films, including Bridget Jones’ Baby.

But due to his history with having worked on so many films, has this changed his opinion on what his favourite movie is?

Appearing on the ‘Not Gonna Lie’ podcast with Kylie Kelce, Ed opened up about his life as a dad of two girls, and how being a parent has changed his life.

The topic soon changed to films, with Kylie asking Ed what his favourite movie was after having heard they might have this in common.

“Love Actually is on every single Christmas in our household, so it’s gotta be one of my favourite – it has to be. I watch it once a year. There’s no other film that I watch once a year,” Ed revealed, much to Kylie’s delight.

However, not everyone agrees with their pick, as Kylie revealed her husband and football icon Jason Kelce and his brother Travis Kelce weren’t big fans of the film.

“My husband and brother-in-law, they had to watch it for the other podcast and they sh*t on it so hard. Jason specifically, he didn’t see what we see in it, I think,” she said.

She went on to say that Jason hadn’t liked the ‘messier’ storylines within the film, saying it wasn’t that typical feel-good family Christmas movie.

To this, Ed said: “That’s the point. It’s different shades of love and betrayal and hurt and heartache. Love isn’t just happiness. Love is all of those things.

“That movie is, I just think, perfect,” Ed added, before asking Kylie about her favourite storyline within the film.

“That’s hard,” she said, making Ed ask about Colin Firth’s storyline. “How did you know? That’s right!”

“It’s the most romantic one, it’s great,” Ed said, before urging Kylie to watch About Time, saying it’s ‘ heartwarmingly heartbreaking’.

People were in awe of the interview, with many followers soon taking to the comment section to share their own thoughts on what the best film is.

“I love how passionate Ed Sheeran is about his views! Definitely an interesting take on *Love Actually*,” one person said, to which another person suggested he should write a song about it.

“I prefer The Holiday but I do still like Love actually,” said another viewer, while a fourth person wrote: “About time is SO good. And I’m obsessed with the fact that ed Sheeran loves romantic movies.”
