Boots reduces mascara used by Princess Kate – just £10

A mascara reportedly favoured by the Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Kate, has been reduced to £10 at Boots for one day only. The Lancôme New and Improved Hypnôse Drama Mascara typically retails for £30 for a full-sized tube or £17 for a travel-sized tube. It’s now available for a fraction of the cost.

In 2015, a source told Hello! magazine that the Duchess often does her own makeup using mascara, the NAKED palette by Urban Decay, and Lancome’s Artliner eyeliner. (The newer NAKED 3 palette from Urban Decay is also on sale right now at Boots, down to £41.60 from £52.) 

This comes as the travel-friendly version of the lash product, priced at £17, is included in this week’s £10 Tuesday sale. This week’s offer also features top brands such as Olay, No7 and Huda Beauty.

The lengthening mascara is said to separate eyelashes and add fullness for high-impact results without clumping or smudging. 

If Lancome isn’t the brand for you, Benefit is another popular brand, and their relatively new Bounce Mascara claims to provide longer, fuller lashes. Beauty enthusiasts can enjoy a 20% discount on it at Debenhams, purchasing it for £21.60 instead of £27, reports The Mirror. 

The mascara has a duo brush tip with fibre bristles to line and evenly coat lashes, while the fine-tooth comb separates and defines.

L’Oreal Paris’s Paradise Big Deal Mascara, priced at £12.99, boasts a cross-conic brush with hybrid-length bristles coupled with a smooth, featherlight formula to give lashes unmistakable volume and separation from the base to the tip.

However, beating the price tag at just £10, the Lancôme mascara stands out as an affordable option for those wanting a taste of luxury without breaking the bank; plus, its compact size is perfect for stowing away on getaways or business trips.

Kate has shown her love for the product, and she’s not alone—over 2,000 glowing five-star reviews on Boots’ website can’t be wrong. One devotee enthused: “The best. It is an amazing mascara. I have repurchased it 10 times.”

A dedicated admirer shared their long history with the brand, stating: “I have been using Lancôme Drama mascara for 24 years. I have tried several different mascaras. I always go back to Lancôme. It provides so much volume. and is buildable.”

Another seasoned user chimed in: “I am in my mid-60s and have been using Lancôme mascara since I was in my early 20s. That should tell you everything you need to know.”

While choosing a mascara can be intensely subjective, and while most feedback is positive, there are voices of dissent.
