Professional cleaner says mistake people make is making home dirty

Cleaning is often labelled one of the least liked chores to do in a household. Whether its deep cleaning the bathroom or wiping down the kitchen counters, the house will never seem completly spotless.

One professional cleaner from Peachy Clean LTD in Belfast, Northern Ireland has shared her top tips and tricks for how to make your house as clean as possible without any extra effort. “Here’s 4 dos and don’t from a professional cleaner,” she began her TikTok video, which included short clips explaining how to make your cleaning more effective.

The first thing she said was: “Don’t use wet cloths to shine,” as she was seen wiping a steel tap. “Use a dry cloth instead,” which will make it more shiny.

She then moved on to the kitchen counters and cabinets, where she had a useful tip to decide the order in how you clean. And there’s one mistake we make which is making our homes dirty again after we’ve just cleaned them.

“Don’t work from the bottom to the top, work from top to bottom instead,” she said. This is to prevent getting the areas you just cleaned dirty again, as the dirt could fall down to the area you just cleaned.

If you need to clean up a spill of a liquid, there’s a simple technique to prevent you just smearing it around the floor instead of cleaning it up.

She said: “Don’t smear spills, mop up in one motion instead,” as she showed how she used the cloth in her hand, folding her hand slowly as she wiped it to catch the liquid in the cloth so it doesn’t spread.

If you find yourself in need of cleaning up dust from around your house, you’ll quicly realise that just using a cloth or a duster might not collecting all the dust from your house.

The cleaner’s last tip was to avoid dry dusting, and to use a damp cloth instead, as it better collects the dust from around your house.

Despite their helpful tips, not everyone was impressed in the comments, with many saying the tips were ‘common knowledge’.

“Dont have to be a professional to know that,” one person said.

A second user commented: “you mean common sense?” to which the company replied: “You’d be shocked, some people haven’t been taught how to clean. Good on them for using videos like this to help!”
